Age Requirements for MiY Zones and Programs
Ages 18 years and up

3D Printing
Located at both South and Valley Ranch locations, guests can bring their imaginations to life with the PolyPrinter 3D Printing.
Perfect for the beginner or the hobbyist, guests can bring an STL file already prepared or they can use a computer in the MiY Zone to make a design.
3D printing is the process of creating three dimensional objects from a digital file. Objects are printed on a specialized printer using a heating element to melt plastic filament and lay down the many tiny layers of the 3D object.
1. Visit the MiY Zone during open hours.
2. Load design in KISSlicer
3. Review design, structural integrity, estimated weight* and print time with MiY Zone staff.
4. Save .STL and G-code file to the flash drive provided by MiY Zone staff.
5. Receive an email from MiY Zone staff when the 3D print job is ready for pickup.
6. Visit the library checkout desk to pay for and pick up the print.
7. Prints will be held for 7 days.
Staff facilitated 3D print jobs are processed in the order in which they are received.

Cricut and Accessories
Discover so many ways to be creative with a Cricut and it's accessories!
The MiY Zones offers:
A Cricut is a cutting machine that can cut designs from a wide variety of materials such as paper, card stock, vinyl, iron-on vinyl (HTV), fabric, and much more.
Patrons must supply their own materials for projects to be created in the MiY Zone.
All patrons requesting to use the Cricut machine must have a valid full privilege Irving Public library card in good standing, complete a safety orientation, and sign a User Agreement and Liability Form.
Cricut machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and checkout for a two-hour period.
Cricut equipment and tools are only available for use inside the MiY Zone.
Design files for use on Cricut can be created using Design Space software. Design Space is a free software available athttps://design.cricut.com/
All users must have an individual Design Space account.
The Cricut machines can be used with a personal laptop or a library laptop, available for use within the MiY Zone.

Laser Etcher
Available at the Valley Ranch MiY Zone, the Epilog Fusion Edge 24 laser etcher allows guests to create and customize etching and engraving on a variety of materials.
This machine also comes with an attachment for the customization of glasses and tumblers.
All patrons requesting to use the laser etcher must have a valid full privilege Irving Public library card in good standing, complete a safety orientation, and sign user agreement and liability form.
Files for use on the laser etcher can be created using one of several different graphic software programs including CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Inkscape. CorelDraw and the Adobe Creative Suite will be available for use in the MiY Zone.
The laser etcher is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The laser cutter may be used for one, two-hour period per day. The laser must be checked out at the MiY Zone service desk.
For safety purposes, all patrons must stay with their laser projects as they are running. Abandoned projects will be canceled.

Visit the MiY Zone to learn more about appropriate materials for the laser. Due to safety concerns, certain materials are not allowed under any circumstances.
Library staff reserve the right to deny access to the laser for any reason, including cases in which material is deemed inappropriate for use.
Patrons who have questions about material they wish to use on the laser, can visit the MiY Zone during open hours or contact the MiY Zone.
Sewing Machines
Both creative and functional, sewing is a skill that can be utilized in many ways.
Get hands on experience with a sewing machine at either South or Valley Ranch.
Patrons must provide their own materials for projects such as fabric, thread, zippers, batting, etc. Limited thread colors are available at the MiY Zone.
All outside thread and fabric must be approved by MiY Zone staff.
All patrons requesting to use a sewing machine must have a valid full privilege Irving Public library card in good standing, complete a safety orientation, and sign user agreement and liability form.
Sewing machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and checkout for a two-hour period.
Sewing equipment is only available for use inside the MiY Zone.
Machine needles and bobbins are provided by the MiY Zone.
Additional items available for use include an iron and ironing board, cutting mats, and clear rulers.
A dress form is available at Valley Ranch Library only.
For safety purposes, all patrons must stay with their sewing projects as they are running.
Abandoned projects will be canceled.
The MiY Zone offers basic and intermediate sewing classes and project-oriented programs.
