The City of Irving uses My Government Online (MGO) permit portal to manage the permitting and inspections process. Registered contractors and homeowners visit the MGO portal to make applications, pay for permits, schedule inspections, and view inspection results.
The cut-off time to schedule a same day inspection online is 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. (Inspections are not performed on weekends.)
For instructions on how to create an MGO account and use the platform, refer to our MGO user guide to follow step by step. For technical help with MGO, our support number is (866) 957-3764.
There is also a mobile app to access all the online services. Download the MGO Mobile App to your phone to have it easily accessible for all your permitting needs.
Do you need help adding a permit to your dashboard or need to know how to add an inspection? We now have an MGO Connect Help Guide that can help walk you through the process with screen shots to help the user navigate the system.

How do I document that my building plans are in compliance with the International Energy Conservation Code?
Energy compliance for commercial buildings and new single-family dwellings can be more easily determined by downloading and using free software (ComCheck) available at Energy Codes website for commercial buildings and on the International Code Compliance Calculator (IC3) website for residential buildings.
An IC3 certificate is required for residential and a ComCheck is required for commercial projects. Be sure to select the 2021 edition of the International Energy Conservation Code.
How long will it take to look at a commercial building?
The turnaround time on any commercial project (new building or alteration) is six business days. The Inspections Department tries to review revisions in six days as well.
