Irving Animal Services (IAS) Animal Control Officers work seven days a week to maintain a safe and healthy environment for both humans and animals living within the City of Irving.


Animal Services Officers are on duty from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are on call for emergencies after business hours and on city holidays.


Animal Services Officers respond to the following:

  1. Stray/loose animals
  2. Animal cruelty and neglect investigations
  3. Animal bites and quarantine requirements
  4. Deceased animal pickup
  5. Noise complaints
  6. Wildlife concerns

If IAS Picks Up a Loose Pet

When a stray animal is picked up by our Animal Control Officers or they are brought to Irving Animal Services, staff does check for an ID tag and scan for a microchip.


Animals with an ID tag and/or microchip are often able to be returned to their owners.
