What jobs can I apply for?
Applications are accepted only for positions that are currently open and may be submitted until 5 p.m. on the closing date. Most positions have specified minimum qualifications.
The minimum age requirement for regular full- and part-time employment is 18; for seasonal employment, the minimum age is 16.
Can I apply for more than one job?
Can I withdraw or change the desired position on my application after I have submitted it to Human Resources?
Yes. If you wish to have your application withdrawn or considered for a different position, contact Human Resources at (972) 721-2696.
If you wish to apply for a different position, a separate application should be submitted.

Should I attach anything to my application?
Will I have to complete any testing for positions with the City of Irving?
The City of Irving does pre-employment drug testing for all positions.
Skills testing may be administered for certain positions. Applicants selected for testing will be contacted by Human Resources or the hiring supervisor regarding dates and times.
Firefighter and police officer positions fall under civil service regulations, so applicants must take an entrance exam.
