Thinking about bidding on a vehicle at the City’s next Auto Pound Auction? Here’s what you need to know.

Make Sure to Register & Preview! If you’re new to the auction, you’ll need to register with Lone Star Auctioneers at the City Pound Office on the morning of the auction. Doors open at 8 a.m., and that’s also when you can preview the vehicles up for grabs. More details are available at the Lone Star Auctioneers website. You must be at least 18 to attend.
All Sales Are Final. Every vehicle is sold "as is, where is." That means no guarantees, no warranties, and no promises about the condition or performance of any car. The auctioneer doesn’t vouch for descriptions, authenticity, or potential issues. It’s on you to inspect before you bid!
Understand Titles & Ownership. The City of Irving does not guarantee titles. The city only passes on whatever title interest it holds. What you see is what you get!
Payment & Pick-Up:
Be ready to pay in full at the time of sale. The auctioneer may allow extra time for payments if a lot of vehicles are sold.
Payments can be made in cash, cashier’s check, or check (with a valid bank letter of guarantee). If you’re paying with a credit card (MasterCard, Visa, or Discover), a 2.5% processing fee applies.
All vehicles must be removed from the lot by Sunday following the Thursday sale.
What Happens If You Don’t Pick Up Your Vehicle? If you don’t claim your car on time, it will be re-impounded, and storage fees will start stacking up.
Paperwork & Title Applications:
The auctioneer will handle the title application and mail it to the address on file within a week after the auction.
Important: You cannot change or alter the title application once it's completed. Whatever name you register under is the name that will go on the title—no do-overs!

Once You Buy It, It’s Your Responsibility. The City of Irving, the auctioneer, and the wrecker service are not responsible for your car after you’ve paid for it. Even if you haven’t picked it up yet.
Auction Rules (Don’t Get Yourself Banned!):
You cannot take anything out of a car or put anything inside until you’ve paid and have a receipt in hand.
It’s against Texas state law to make deals with other bidders ahead of time to limit competition. Play fair, or you won’t be welcome back.
