Code Enforcement strives to improve the quality of life for the people of Irving through education and enforcement of all zoning and code regulations on single-family dwellings, commercial properties and vacant lots.
To find out if a property has any liens, submit an Open Records Request.
Payoff requests can be submitted to the City of Irving via email. Upon payment, a release of lien will be executed and submitted to Dallas County Records by Code Enforcement. A copy of the release of lien can be obtained from Dallas County Records.
When may trash be placed at the curb for pickup?
No earlier than 24 hours prior to your scheduled pickup.
If a scheduled trash collection day falls on a holiday, does the trash still get picked up?
No. It will be picked up on your next regular collection day.

Is a permit required for a garage sale?
Yes. Garage Sale Permit Applications may be filled out on the City of Irving website. Two garage sales are allowed per calendar year.
What if I need to cancel my garage sale?
Garage sale permits may be canceled up until 7 a.m. the first day of the sale. Simply go to the Garage Sale Permit Application and select Cancel Garage Sale in the dropdown box.
Who is responsible for cutting and edging the grass between the sidewalk and street?
The property owner and/or tenants are responsible for maintaining this area up to the street including the curb.
