Get Involved with Irving’s Adaptive Recreation Programs!
At Irving Parks and Recreation, everyone deserves a chance to play, compete and connect! The adaptive programs are designed for individuals with special mental and physical needs, offering fun, fitness and friendship through:
Adult Therapeutic Day Program – A welcoming space for socializing and skill-building.
Irving Special Olympics – Where athletes shine and show their competitive spirit!
Most of the programs take place at Lively Pointe Youth Center, with AquaStars hosted at local aquatic centers. Participants looking to join the fun or volunteer are welcome.

Designed for Irving residents ages 18 years and older with mental or physical disabilities, this program supports adults needing moderate assistance with leisure activities and fitness. Through daily social and recreational activities, participants build skills for a healthy, independent lifestyle and an improved quality of life.
Schedule:
Cost: $175 per session (includes one weekly field trip.)
Offering quality recreational programs for athletes ages 12 years and older, our Special Olympics teams compete year-round in Area 10 events, with sports rotating by season:
Basketball | December–May
Softball | June–August
Bowling | September–October
Volleyball | September–November
