Part-Time Recreation Centers

Irving Parks & Recreation operates two part-time recreation centers in cooperation with the Irving Independent School District: Austin and Houston Recreation Centers.


Because they are located in two Irving middle schools, participants at this facility are limited to youth and teens in middle and high schools. Hours of operation vary throughout the year, and occasionally a facility may be closed due to school functions.


Patrons must present valid IPAR card or current school ID to use facility.


Call to confirm hours and days of operation. These facilities cannot be rented.

Houston Rec Center

Austin Recreation Center is a shared-use facility located in the Stephen F. Austin Middle School that the City of Irving operates in partnership with the Irving Independent School District.
