Microchip Your Pets
Helping Irving Animal Services return pets to their rightful owners quickly and easily. Microchipping your pet can keep city streets free of roaming animals while increasing the safety and health of residents and pets.
Pet ID tags are available at the Irving Animal Care Campus for $3 to $5.
Microchipping services are $15.
- Pets should always wear a collar with ID tags so they can be returned home right away.
- Microchip your pets, and ensure the microchip is registered with up-to-date contact information in case the collar and tags fall off. Microchipping and ID tags are available for purchase at the Irving Animal Care Campus.
- Spay or neuter your pets. Pets who are not spayed or neutered will often roam looking for a mate. On average 90 percent of the stray animals picked up by IAS are not spayed or neutered.
- Irving Animal Services, through its partners TCAP and Spay Neuter Network, offers affordable spay and neuter services to Irving residents multiple times each month. Visit the IAS Events page for more information.
- Keep pets safely contained. When your pets are outdoors, make sure gates are latched and fences are in good repair. When your pets are indoors, ensure exterior doors and windows are closed. When opening doors or windows, make sure your pets are secured so that they cannot escape.
- Pets should always be on a leash or in a carrier when in areas where they cannot be securely contained.
- If your pet becomes lost, report it right away. Immediately report a missing pet to Animal Services , and visit the shelter to look for it. Visit the Animal Services Lost and Found page for more information.
