With 13 fire stations located around Irving, all homes and/or businesses located within the city limits of Irving, Texas, and jurisdictional response area served by the Irving Fire Department are designated as ISO-1, Public Protection Classification (PPC).
An ISO-1 fire designation, or a Public Protection Classification (PPC) of 1, is the highest possible rating a fire department can receive from the Insurance Services Office (ISO).
It indicates that the community has an exemplary fire suppression program and exceptional fire protection capabilities. This rating is used by insurance companies to set fire insurance premiums.
