Patrol

The Irving Police Department is dedicated to ensuring a safe community where all residents can live, work, and raise their families without fear of crime.

Achieving this vision relies on active cooperation and open communication with the community. Irving encourages residents to determine their patrol beat, access online crime statistics, request a Vacation Watch or directly contact their beat officer with any questions, comments or concerns.

Regular engagement with these resources is vital, and the department values every opportunity to work together with the public.

Patrol Divisions

The Patrol Division is organized into two sectors—the North Patrol Division and the South Patrol Division—with State Highway 183 serving as the dividing line.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) team is a key asset to the Irving Police Department. Comprised of one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, and 30 FAA Part 107-certified pilots, the team supports patrol operations, assists in locating missing persons, and helps apprehend dangerous felons. Each patrol shift is reinforced by two dedicated pilots, ensuring a swift response to critical incidents. Additionally, eight pilots are assigned to other divisions, including the Crime Scene Unit, further enhancing the department's operational capabilities.
