Library System Upgrade, June 24
June 17, 2025
June 24, the library catalog and other online services will be temporarily unavailable for a library system upgrade.

On Tuesday, June 24, the Irving Public Library’s Integrated Library System, also called ILS, will undergo a scheduled upgrade. While this upgrade will help improve services in the long run, it will temporarily interrupt many standard library features. Many of the moving parts behind the scenes at the library are interconnected, and the ILS is used in many activities such as checking out an ebook, seeing the status of holds in the online account portal, looking for books in the catalog, or logging into a database such as LinkedIn Learning.
The process will begin around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, with most services back up and accessible by the afternoon. However, this is an estimated time of completion. Once the actual upgrade is complete, work will be ongoing to make sure that all services are reconnected and working properly. There could be continued connection issues to databases accessible from home, digital download providers (Libby/hoopla/Kanopy) and the use of self-check machines at the library locations. Below is a more detailed list of affected services:
●Library catalog
●Self-check machines
●Library payments, in person and online
●Hoopla/Libby/Kanopy
●Remote access to databases
●Hublet tablets
Staff will resolve any issues as soon as possible.
