The Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) $7.6 million SH 356 (Irving Boulevard) Rehabilitation Project runs from State Highway (SH) 183 to the eastern limit of Irving.

The Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) $7.6 million SH 356 (Irving Boulevard) Rehabilitation Project runs from State Highway (SH) 183 to the eastern limit of Irving. Work is planned primarily at night, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and the project runs through late September.


Project Scope

  1. Initial phase of work: structural evaluation of bridges and railing retrofit
  2. Structural repair to SH 356 bridge over MacArthur Boulevard and TRE Railroad
  3. Retrofit bridge railing on Loop 12 bridge
  4. Retrofit bridge railing on MacArthur Boulevard/TRE Railroad bridge
  5. Structural repair to SH 356 bridge over Loop 12 main lanes
  6. Full depth concrete repair of SH 356 pavement as needed
  7. Mill and asphalt overlay SH 356 pavement
  8. Install new pavement markings


The section of SH 356 owned by the City of Irving, located between Millennial Fountain and Strickland Plaza, is not included in the TxDOT rehabilitation project.
