North Nursery Corridor
Overview
Updates (1)
The North Nursery Corridor was selected as a pilot project for the City of Irving's Neighborhood Planning Initiative.
The initiative is designed to:
- Improve communications between residents and City Hall.
- Empower residents and stakeholders to define the future of their community.
- Ensure that the city's plans, particularly regarding future land use, match the needs and desires of the residents within each of Irving's neighborhoods
This area was selected for a number of reasons:
- Ready identification of potential neighborhood leadership team from the four formerly active Neighborhood Associations in the area.
- Potential for pockets of redevelopment due to its proximity to Planned Unit Development (PUD) #6 to the north.
- Its adjacency to future expansion of the nearby downtown-area Heritage Crossing to Loop 12.
- Several major roadway corridors through the area
- Prevalence of older apartment complexes and single-family homes in need of improvement.
